         Jamie MCElrath - Scenic ARTISt

space . D309                                                                    * the "no-function" room *

Contrary, it is the room of many functions such classes discussing Scenic Design,
Architectural Studies, Design Methodology, and Special Topics as well as serving as a
space for numerous production meetings and student advisement meetings. The room is located
at the end of a courtyard balcony, in which every first year student has difficulty in finding.

All in all it serves no real appeasing artistic aesthetic when considering things such as the pitiful lighting it receives naturally and incandescently, the lack of ventilation, the strange three steel-framed windows and door, lack of space, only two power outlets, a built in chalkboard, random wall jots, and an excessively bleak color scheme. For our needs, it proved to be quite an apt space to set our world in.

The real trouble with D309 in this case, lies within it's frequent use. For PEARL, we spent three weekends in this room, as well as our initial shelf building work call to figure out to Gondola Shelves.

For this film, the set had to be loaded once for a test weekend shoot, and twice for filming. Without the help of the entire team, this task would have never been able to have been accomplished.
